Example: what a sponsored article looks like here

This is the shape of a paid article on this site. It sits under /sponsored/, carries the disclosure above and below, and its outbound links carry rel="sponsored" unless a link is set to nofollow in the frontmatter, like this demonstration link.

What the sponsor gets

Up to two outbound links, such as the sponsor’s own site, an article kept online for at least twelve months at a stable address, and a listing on the partner page’s inventory while it runs.

What the tone is

Plain description of what the sponsor offers, where it is, who it is for and what it costs. Claims stay the sponsor’s; the editorial team checks that nothing on the page contradicts an official source elsewhere on the site, and declines the piece if it does.

What the reader gets

A labelled page that is easy to skip. Sponsored articles never appear inside the beach guides, the legality table, the etiquette and first-visit guides, or a source ledger.
